Vote Now
A voting app for meetings that run on motions: attendees vote from their phones and SignalR keeps everyone on the same motion as the meeting moves.
Highlights

The meeting moves, every phone moves with it
When the chair goes to the next motion, each attendee's app follows over SignalR, so everyone votes on the same wording.

Yes, No or Abstain, recorded per lot
Each motion shows its resolution type and who proposed it, and a vote is cast for each lot the member holds.

Voting can open before the meeting
A campaign has its own open and close dates, so members can vote ahead of time.

Reminders before a campaign closes
Members are notified when a vote is requested and again when a campaign is about to close.

Two-factor sign-in
Members can turn on a second step at sign-in, with the code sent by email or SMS.
The problem
Formal meetings decide things by motion, and counting those votes on paper is slow and easy to dispute. Moving the vote onto phones raises a new problem: everyone in the room has to be looking at the same motion at the same moment, or the result means nothing.
The approach
- 01Used SignalR so the meeting controls navigation: when the chair moves to the next motion, every attendee's app moves with it.
- 02Modelled motions and motion groups, with the wording, attachments and resolution type shown for each.
- 03Supported campaigns that open before the meeting, so members can vote ahead of time and are reminded before a campaign closes.
- 04Added email and in-app notifications, and two-factor authentication for sign-in.
The result
Votes are cast from each attendee's phone and tallied as the meeting runs, with no paper ballots to collect or count.
